NAME

6 dumpdir, 512dumpdir - print the names of files on a dump tape
7

SYNOPSIS

9 dumpdir [ f filename ]
10 512dumpdir [ f filename ]
11

DESCRIPTION

13 Dumpdir is used to read magtapes dumped with the dump command and list
14 the names and inode numbers of all the files and directories on the
15 tape.
16
17 The f option causes filename as the name of the tape instead of the
18 default.
19
20 512dumpdir is a version of dumpdir that can read tapes written from
21 512-byte block file systems.
22

FILES

24 /dev/rmt1 default file name
25 rst* temporary files
26

SEE ALSO

28 dump(8), restor(8)
29

DIAGNOSTICS

31 If the dump extends over more than one tape, it may ask you to change
32 tapes. Reply with a newline when the next tape has been mounted.
33

BUGS

35 There is redundant information on the tape that could be used in case
36 of tape reading problems. Unfortunately, dumpdir and 512dumpdir don't
37 use it.
