PROLOG

6 This manual page is part of the POSIX Programmer's Manual. The Linux
7 implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding

NAME

12 memccpy - copy bytes in memory
13

SYNOPSIS

15 #include <string.h>
16
17 void *memccpy(void *restrict s1, const void *restrict s2,
18              int c, size_t n);
19
20

DESCRIPTION

22 The memccpy() function shall copy bytes from memory area s2 into s1,
23 stopping after the first occurrence of byte c (converted to an unsigned
24 char) is copied, or after n bytes are copied, whichever comes first. If
25 copying takes place between objects that overlap, the behavior is unde‐
26 fined.
27

RETURN VALUE

29 The memccpy() function shall return a pointer to the byte after the
30 copy of c in s1, or a null pointer if c was not found in the first n
31 bytes of s2.
32

ERRORS

34 No errors are defined.

EXAMPLES

39 None.
40

APPLICATION USAGE

42 The memccpy() function does not check for the overflow of the receiving
43 memory area.
44

RATIONALE

46 None.
