NAME

6 faxabort - tell a HylaFAX server to abort a receive
7

SYNOPSIS

9 /usr/sbin/faxabort [ -q dir ] modem
10

DESCRIPTION

12 faxabort sends a message to a HylaFAX faxgetty(8C) process servicing
13 modem telling it to abort any active receive operation.
14
15 The specified modem can either be the name (typically the last compo‐
16 nent of the terminal port the modem is attached to), or the full name
17 of the associated FIFO named pipe file, e.g. ``FIFO.ttym2''.
18
19 Note that to abort a send operation the faxrm(1) command must be used.
20

OPTIONS

22 -q dir Use a spooling area other than /var/spool/hylafax.
23

NOTES

25 On some systems it is not possible to abort a received facsimile
26 because of problems in the operating system; on such systems the mes‐
27 sage sent by faxabort will be (silently) ignored.
28

FILES
