NAME

6       streamer - record audio and/or video

SYNOPSIS

9       streamer [ options ]

DESCRIPTION

12       streamer  reads  audio  and/or video data from /dev/video0 and /dev/dsp
13       and writes the data to the disk.  Various output formats are supported.
14       Start  streamer  with  '-h'  for a list of options and supported output
15       formats.

17       streamer will use the file extention of the output file name to  figure
18       which  format to use.  You need the -f/-F options only if the extention
19       allows more than one format.  If you get the "neither audio  nor  video
20       format  specified/found" message and don't know why, you can enable the
21       debug output (-d switch) to see what is going on.

23       You can safely stop the recording at any time  with  Ctrl+C.   streamer
24       will  catch  the  signal and stop recording correctly (i.e. write movie
25       file headers) before exiting.

EXAMPLES

28       streamer -o foobar.jpeg
29              write a single jpeg file.

31       streamer -o quicktime.mov -f yuv2 -F stereo -r 12 -t 0:10
32              record a short quicktime movie.
