DESCRIPTION

23       The  functionality described on this reference page is aligned with the
24       ISO C standard. Any conflict between the  requirements  described  here
25       and  the  ISO C  standard is unintentional. This volume of POSIX.1‐2008
26       defers to the ISO C standard.

28       The fegetexceptflag() function shall attempt to  store  an  implementa‐
29       tion-defined  representation of the states of the floating-point status
30       flags indicated by the argument excepts in the object pointed to by the
31       argument flagp.

33       The  fesetexceptflag() function shall attempt to set the floating-point
34       status flags indicated by the argument excepts to the states stored  in
35       the  object  pointed  to by flagp.  The value pointed to by flagp shall
36       have been set by a previous  call  to  fegetexceptflag()  whose  second
37       argument  represented  at  least those floating-point exceptions repre‐
38       sented by the argument excepts.  This function does not raise floating-
39       point exceptions, but only sets the state of the flags.

RETURN VALUE

42       If  the representation was successfully stored, fegetexceptflag() shall
43       return zero. Otherwise, it  shall  return  a  non-zero  value.  If  the
44       excepts  argument  is zero or if all the specified exceptions were suc‐
45       cessfully set, fesetexceptflag() shall return zero. Otherwise, it shall
46       return a non-zero value.
