DESCRIPTION

21       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with  the
22       ISO C  standard.  Any  conflict between the requirements described here
23       and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This  volume  of  POSIX.1‐2008
24       defers to the ISO C standard.

26       The  fpclassify() macro shall classify its argument value as NaN, infi‐
27       nite, normal, subnormal, zero, or into  another  implementation-defined
28       category.   First,  an  argument represented in a format wider than its
29       semantic type is converted to its semantic type. Then classification is
30       based on the type of the argument.

RETURN VALUE

33       The fpclassify() macro shall return the value of the number classifica‐
34       tion macro appropriate to the value of its argument.
