NAME

6       cdist-type__filesystem - Create Filesystems.

DESCRIPTION

9       This cdist type allows you to create filesystems on devices.

11       If the device is mounted on target, it refuses to do anything.

13       If  the  device  has  a  filesystem other then the specified and/or the
14       label is not correct, it only makes a new filesystem if you have speci‐
15       fied --force option.

REQUIRED PARAMETERS

18       fstype Filesystem type, for example 'ext3', 'btrfs' or 'xfs'.

OPTIONAL PARAMETERS

21       device Blockdevice for filesystem, Defaults to object_id.  On linux, it
22              can be any lsblk accepted device notation.

30       label  Label which should be applied on the filesystem.

33              Additional options which are inserted to the mkfs.xxx call.

BOOLEAN PARAMETERS

36       force  Normally, this type does nothing if a filesystem is found on the
37              target  device.  If  you  specify  force,  it's formatted if the
38              filesystem type or label differs from parameters.  Warning: This
39              option can easily lead into data loss!
