NAME

6 faxlock - tell a HylaFAX server to switch to LOCKWAIT state
7

SYNOPSIS

9 /usr/sbin/faxlock [ -q dir ] modem
10

DESCRIPTION

12 faxlock sends a message to a HylaFAX faxgetty(8C) process servicing
13 modem telling it to change its state to LOCKWAIT
14
15 The specified modem can either be the name (typically the last compo‐
16 nent of the terminal port the modem is attached to), or the full name
17 of the associated FIFO named pipe file, e.g. ``FIFO.ttym2''.
18

OPTIONS

20 -q dir Use a spooling area other than /var/spool/hylafax.
21

NOTES

23 When faxgetty changes it's state to LOCKWAIT, it will start looking for
24 the UUCP lockfile for the device, and when the device is no longer
25 locked, proceed to re-initialize the modem.
26

FILES

28 /var/spool/hylafax default spooling area
29 /var/spool/hylafax/FIFO fifo for contacting faxq
30
31 Consult hylafax-server(5F) for a complete discussion of the structure
32 and content of the spooling area.
