NAME

6       scsi_stop - stop (spin down) one or more SCSI disks

SYNOPSIS

9       scsi_stop [--help] [--verbose] [--wait] DEVICE [DEVICE]*

DESCRIPTION

12       This bash shell script calls the sg_start utility on each given DEVICE.
13       The purpose is to spin down (stop) each given DEVICE.

OPTIONS

16       Arguments to long options are mandatory for short options as well.

18       -h, --help
19              print out the usage message then exit.

21       -v, --verbose
22              increase level or verbosity.

24       -w, --wait
25              wait for the spin down (stop) on each given DEVICE to  complete.
26              The default action is to do each stop in immediate mode.

NOTES

29       The  sg_start  utility  calls  the SCSI START STOP UNIT command and can
30       either start (spin up) or stop (spin down) a SCSI disk depending on the
31       given command line options.

EXIT STATUS

34       The  exit  status  of this script is 0 when it is successful. Otherwise
35       the exit status is that of the last sg_start utility  called.  See  the
36       sg3_utils(8) man page.
