NAME

6 feholdexcept - save current floating-point environment
7

SYNOPSIS

9 #include <fenv.h>
10
11       int feholdexcept(fenv_t *envp);
12
13

DESCRIPTION

15 The feholdexcept() function shall save the current floating-point envi‐
16 ronment in the object pointed to by envp, clear the floating-point sta‐
17 tus flags, and then install a non-stop (continue on floating-point
18 exceptions) mode, if available, for all floating-point exceptions.
19

RETURN VALUE

21 The feholdexcept() function shall return zero if and only if non-stop
22 floating-point exception handling was successfully installed.
23

ERRORS

25 No errors are defined.

31

APPLICATION USAGE

33 None.
34

RATIONALE

36 The feholdexcept() function should be effective on typical
37 IEC 60559:1989 standard implementations which have the default non-stop
38 mode and at least one other mode for trap handling or aborting. If the
39 implementation provides only the non-stop mode, then installing the
40 non-stop mode is trivial.
41

FUTURE DIRECTIONS

43 None.
