27 gluLoadSamplingMatrices uses model, perspective, and view to recompute
28 the sampling and culling matrices stored in nurb. The sampling matrix
29 determines how finely a NURBS curve or surface must be tessellated to
30 satisfy the sampling tolerance (as determined by the
31 GLU_SAMPLING_TOLERANCE property). The culling matrix is used in
32 deciding if a NURBS curve or surface should be culled before rendering
33 (when the GLU_CULLING property is turned on).

35 gluLoadSamplingMatrices is necessary only if the GLU_AUTO_LOAD_MATRIX
36 property is turned off (see gluNurbsProperty()). Although it can be
37 convenient to leave the GLU_AUTO_LOAD_MATRIX property turned on, there
38 can be a performance penalty for doing so. (A round trip to the GL
39 server is needed to fetch the current values of the modelview matrix,
40 projection matrix, and viewport.)
