9       gethostip [-dxnf]  [HOSTNAME|IP]

DESCRIPTION

12       This manual page documents briefly the gethostip command.

14       The  gethostip utility converts the given hostname or IP address into a
15       variety formats.  It is provided by the syslinux  package  to  make  it
16       easier  to  calculate  the appropriate names for pxelinux configuration
17       files.  These filenames can be the complete hexadecimal  representation
18       for  a  given  IP  address,  or a partial hexadecimal representation to
19       match a range of IP addresses.

OPTIONS

23       A summary of options is included below.

25       -d        Output the IP address in decimal format.

27       -x        Output the IP address in hexadecimal format.

29       -n        Output the host's canonical name.

31       -f        Full output.  Outputs the IP address in  all  supported  for‐
32                 mats.  Same as -xdn.
