21       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with  the
22       ISO C  standard.  Any  conflict between the requirements described here
23       and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This  volume  of  POSIX.1‐2008
24       defers to the ISO C standard.

26       The  isgreater()  macro  shall  determine whether its first argument is
27       greater than its second argument. The value of isgreater(x, y) shall be
28       equal  to  (x) > (y);  however, unlike (x) > (y), isgreater(x, y) shall
29       not raise the  invalid  floating-point  exception  when  x  and  y  are
30       unordered.

33       Upon  successful  completion,  the  isgreater()  macro shall return the
34       value of (x) > (y).

APPLICATION USAGE

47       The relational and equality operators support  the  usual  mathematical
48       relationships  between  numeric values. For any ordered pair of numeric
49       values, exactly one of the relationships (less, greater, and equal)  is
50       true.  Relational operators may raise the invalid floating-point excep‐
51       tion when argument values are NaNs. For a NaN and a numeric  value,  or
52       for  two NaNs, just the unordered relationship is true. This macro is a
53       quiet (non-floating-point exception raising) version  of  a  relational
54       operator.  It facilitates writing efficient code that accounts for NaNs
55       without suffering the invalid floating-point exception. In the SYNOPSIS
56       section,  real-floating indicates that the argument shall be an expres‐
57       sion of real-floating type.
