NAME

6       pdfclean - pretty print, decompress and garbage collect PDF files

SYNOPSIS

9       pdfclean [options] input.pdf [output.pdf]

DESCRIPTION

12       pdfclean  pretty prints and rewrites the contents of a PDF file.  If no
13       output file is specified, the new file will be written to "out.pdf"  in
14       the current directory.

OPTIONS

17       -p password
18              Use the specified password if the file is encrypted.

20       -g     Garbage  collect  objects  that  have  no  references from other
21              objects.  Give the option twice to renumber all objects and com‐
22              pact  the  cross  reference table.  Give it three times to merge
23              and reuse duplicate objects.

25       -d     Decompress streams. This will make the output file  larger,  but
26              provides easy access for reading and editing the contents with a
27              text editor.
