14 This tool is part of the samba(7) suite.
15 smbstatus is a very simple program to list the current Samba
17 connections.

20 -P|--profile
21 If samba has been compiled with the profiling option, print only
22 the contents of the profiling shared memory area.
23 -R|--profile-rates
25 If samba has been compiled with the profiling option, print the
26 contents of the profiling shared memory area and the call rates.
27 -b|--brief
29 gives brief output.
30 -d|--debuglevel=level
32 level is an integer from 0 to 10. The default value if this
33 parameter is not specified is 0.
34 The higher this value, the more detail will be logged to the log
36 files about the activities of the server. At level 0, only critical
37 errors and serious warnings will be logged. Level 1 is a reasonable
38 level for day-to-day running - it generates a small amount of
39 information about operations carried out.
40 Levels above 1 will generate considerable amounts of log data, and
42 should only be used when investigating a problem. Levels above 3
43 are designed for use only by developers and generate HUGE amounts
44 of log data, most of which is extremely cryptic.
45 Note that specifying this parameter here will override the log
47 level parameter in the smb.conf file.

50 Prints the program version number.
51 -s|--configfile=<configuration file>
53 The file specified contains the configuration details required by
54 the server. The information in this file includes server-specific
55 information such as what printcap file to use, as well as
56 descriptions of all the services that the server is to provide. See
57 smb.conf for more information. The default configuration file name
58 is determined at compile time.
59 -l|--log-basename=logdirectory
61 Base directory name for log/debug files. The extension ".progname"
62 will be appended (e.g. log.smbclient, log.smbd, etc...). The log
63 file is never removed by the client.
64 --option=<name>=<value>
66 Set the smb.conf(5) option "<name>" to value "<value>" from the
67 command line. This overrides compiled-in defaults and options read
68 from the configuration file.
