SHELL EXPANSIONS

24       Beware  of  special  chars:  *  and . are often expanded by your shell,
25       hence sending files * will probably do what  you  want,  putting  every
26       file  existing in the current directory onto the terminal, but  receiv‐
27       ing files * may not do what you want: it will only get every file which
28       already exist in the current directory, skipping those you just created
29       on your terminal !  If you want to get every file which  exist  in  the
30       terminal,  you  should  use  '*' or something similar (please read your
31       shell manual).

33       The same warning applies to other special chars, such as  $,  ~,  &,...
34       which  should be protected by surrounding arguments by quotes (') or by
35       using single backslashes (\) just before them (please read  your  shell
36       manual).
