6       globus-gridftp-password - creates an encrypted password to be used for

DESCRIPTION

13       Create encrypted user passwords to be used with the GridFTP server in
14       case it is configured to use clear text password. However, this type of
15       functionality is not recommended, unless the network is trusted.

17       The globus-gridftp-password command asks for a password and generates a
18       line in the same format as the standard password file (see file
19       /etc/passwd). Such a line can be appended to the password file used by
20       the GridFTP server.

EXAMPLE

23           % globus-gridftp-password >> pwfile

26       Generates a password line for the current user and append it to file
27       "pwfile".
