DESCRIPTION

12       Salut  implements the Telepathy D-Bus specification for link-local XMPP
13       (XEP-0174, often called "Bonjour"),  allowing  Telepathy  clients  like
14       empathy(1)  to  communicate  with  other  implementations of link-local
15       XMPP, such as iChat. It also extends the protocol to support multicast-
16       based chat rooms and collaboration.

18       It is a D-Bus service which runs on the session bus, and should usually
19       be started automatically by D-Bus activation. However, it might be use‐
20       ful to start it manually for debugging.

OPTIONS

23       There are no command-line options.

ENVIRONMENT

26       SALUT_LOGFILE=filename
27              If  set,  debug  output will go to the given file rather than to
28              stderr.

30       SALUT_DEBUG=type
31              May be set to "all" for full debug output,  or  various  undocu‐
32              mented  options  (which  may  change from release to release) to
33              filter the output.  GIBBER_DEBUG=type May be set  to  "all"  for
34              full debug output from the Gibber XMPP library used by Salut, or
35              various undocumented options (which may change from  release  to
36              release) to filter the output.
