DESCRIPTION

13       The kea-dhcp4 daemon provides the DHCPv4 server implementation.

ARGUMENTS

16       The arguments are as follows:

18       -v     Displays the version.

20       -V     Displays the extended version.

22       -W     Displays the configuration report.

24       -d     Enables the debug mode with extra verbosity.

26       -c config-file
27              Specifies the configuration file with the configuration for  the
28              DHCPv4  server.  It  may  also contain configuration entries for
29              other Kea services.

32              Checks the configuration file and reports the  first  error,  if
33              any.  Note  that  not  all parameters are completely checked; in
34              particular, service and control channel sockets are not  opened,
35              and hook libraries are not loaded.

37       -p server-port-number
38              Specifies  the  server port number (1-65535) on which the server
39              listens. This is useful for testing purposes only.

42              Specifies the client port number (1-65535) to which  the  server

47       covers all aspects of running the Kea software - compilation, installa‐
48       tion,  configuration,  configuration  examples, and much more. Kea also
49       features a Kea Messages Manual, which lists all possible  messages  Kea
50       can print with a brief description for each of them. Both documents are
51       available in various formats (.txt, .html, .pdf) with the Kea distribu‐

61       There  are  two  public  mailing  lists  available for the Kea project.
62       kea-users (kea-users at lists.isc.org) is intended for Kea users, while
63       kea-dev  (kea-dev  at  lists.isc.org)  is  intended for Kea developers,
64       prospective contributors, and other  advanced  users.  Both  lists  are
65       available  at https://lists.isc.org. The community provides best-effort
66       support on both of those lists.

HISTORY

72       The  b10-dhcp4 daemon was first coded in November 2011 by Tomek Mrugal‐
73       ski.

75       In mid-2014, Kea was decoupled from the BIND 10 framework and became  a
76       standalone  DHCP  server.  The  DHCPv4  server  binary  was  renamed to
77       kea-dhcp4. Kea 1.0.0 was released in December 2015.
