DESCRIPTION

18       PNAM        (an input constant or variable of type CHARACTER) specifies
19                   the name of the parameter to get. The name must appear as
20                   the first two characters of the string. If the internal
21                   parameter is one of the two (´BC´ and ´CC´) that are
22                   arrays, the index of the desired array element may appear,
23                   enclosed in parentheses, in columns 3 and following. Other
24                   characters may be used to document the use of the parameter
25                   being retrieved; for example, instead of just ´MA´, one can
26                   use ´MA - MAPPING FLAG´ and, instead of ´CC(10)´, one can
27                   use ´CC(10) - SPECIAL COLOR 10´.

29       CVAL        (an output variable of type CHARACTER) is the name of the
30                   variable into which the value of the internal parameter
31                   specified by PNAM is to be retrieved.

C-BINDING DESCRIPTION

34       The C-binding argument descriptions are the same as the FORTRAN
35       argument descriptions with the following exception:

37       len         The size of cval as dimensioned in the calling program.

USAGE

40       This routine allows you to retrieve the current value of Plotchar
41       parameters.  For a complete list of parameters available in this
42       utility, see the plotchar_params man page.

ACCESS

45       To use PCGETC or c_pcgetc, load the NCAR Graphics libraries ncarg,
46       ncarg_gks, and ncarg_c, preferably in that order.
