DESCRIPTION

12       mysql_setpermission is a Perl script that was originally written and
13       contributed by Luuk de Boer. It interactively sets permissions in the
14       MariaDB grant tables.  mysql_setpermission is written in Perl and
15       requires that the DBI and DBD::MariaDB Perl modules be installed.

17       Invoke mysql_setpermission like this:

19           shell> mysql_setpermission [options]

21       options should be either --help to display the help message, or options
22       that indicate how to connect to the MariaDB server. The account used
23       when you connect determines which permissions you have when attempting
24       to modify existing permissions in the grant tables.

26       mysql_setpermission also reads options from the [client] and [perl]
27       groups in the .my.cnf file in your home directory, if the file exists.

29       mysql_setpermission supports the following options:

33           Display a help message and exit.

35       •   --host=host_name

37           Connect to the MariaDB server on the given host.

41           The password to use when connecting to the server. Note that the
42           password value is not optional for this option, unlike for other
43           MariaDB programs.

46           insecure. You can use an option file to avoid giving the password
47           on the command line.
