NAME

6       nice - run a program with modified scheduling priority

SYNOPSIS

9       nice [OPTION] [COMMAND [ARG]...]

DESCRIPTION

12       Run  COMMAND  with an adjusted niceness, which affects process schedul‐
13       ing.  With no COMMAND, print the  current  niceness.   Niceness  values
14       range  from  -20 (most favorable to the process) to 19 (least favorable
15       to the process).

17       Mandatory arguments to long options are  mandatory  for  short  options
18       too.

20       -n, --adjustment=N
21              add integer N to the niceness (default 10)

23       --help display this help and exit

26              output version information and exit

28       NOTE: your shell may have its own version of nice, which usually super‐
29       sedes the version described here.  Please refer to your  shell's  docu‐
