DESCRIPTION

21       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with  the
22       ISO C  standard.  Any  conflict between the requirements described here
23       and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This  volume  of  POSIX.1‐2017
24       defers to the ISO C standard.

26       The  wctob() function shall determine whether c corresponds to a member
27       of the extended character set whose character representation is a  sin‐
28       gle byte when in the initial shift state.

30       The  behavior  of this function shall be affected by the LC_CTYPE cate‐
31       gory of the current locale.

RETURN VALUE

34       The wctob() function shall return EOF if c does  not  correspond  to  a
35       character  with  length  one  in the initial shift state. Otherwise, it
36       shall return the single-byte representation of  that  character  as  an
37       unsigned char converted to int.
