NAME

6       rwhoisd  - Server for the RWhois Protocol

DESCRIPTION

14       RWhoisd  serves data using the RWhois protocol. The rwhoisd server will
15       serve formatted records based on a query, send  referral  and  see-also
16       information,  and  change  the  server environment based on directives.
17       The server is typically run as a standalone server, although it can  be
18       run from inetd(1).

OPTIONS

22       Options  given on the command line override equivalent options given in
23       the rwhoisd configuration files.

25       -c     The full path of the main rwhoisd configuration file. Default is
26              "rwhoisd.conf" in the current working directory.

28       -r     Become  a  root rwhois server. No referrals to a higher level of
29              the tree are given if the server cannot find an  answer  to  the
30              query.

32       -s     Attempt a chroot(2) upon startup.

34       -d     Start up in "daemon mode".

36       -i     Start up in "inetd mode".

38       -v     Verbose.   Logging  will  occur  at  the "info" level.  See sys‐
39              log.conf(4) for descriptions of the logging levels

41       -V     Very Verbose.  Logging will occur at the "debug" level.

43       -q     Quiet Mode.  Disable most logging.  Logging will  occur  at  the
44              "alert" level.
