DESCRIPTION

20       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with  the
21       ISO C  standard.  Any  conflict between the requirements described here
22       and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This  volume  of  POSIX.1‐2017
23       defers to the ISO C standard.

25       The  strcat()  function shall append a copy of the string pointed to by
26       s2 (including the terminating NUL character) to the end of  the  string
27       pointed  to by s1.  The initial byte of s2 overwrites the NUL character
28       at the end of s1.  If copying takes place between objects that overlap,
29       the behavior is undefined.

RETURN VALUE

32       The  strcat()  function shall return s1; no return value is reserved to
33       indicate an error.
