DESCRIPTION

12       alacarte is a graphical editor for the freedesktop.org menus that are
13       used by many desktop environments. It can also edit and create
14       application desktop files.

OPTIONS

17       alacarte does not accept any commandline options.

ENVIRONMENT

20       XDG_CONFIG_DIRS
21           alacarte looks in the menus subdirectory of these directories for
22           menu files. The default location for menu files is /etc/xdg/menus.

24       XDG_DATA_DIRS
25           alacarte looks in the applications subdirectory of these
26           directories for desktop files. The default location for desktop
27           files is /usr/share/applications.

29       XDG_CONFIG_HOME
30           The menus subdirectory of this directory is where alacarte stores
31           modified menu files. The default location for modified menu files
32           is $HOME/.config/menus.

34       XDG_DATA_HOME
35           The applications subdirectory of this directory is where alacarte
36           stores modified and newly created desktop files. The default
37           location for these is $HOME/.local/share/applications.

39       XDG_MENU_PREFIX
40           alacarte is editing the menus defined by the file
41           $XDG_MENU_PREFIXapplications.menu. GNOME uses the menu file
42           gnome-applications.menu.
