6       kig - An interactive geometry program by KDE

9       kig [-c, --convert-to-native [-o, --outfile filename]] [options]

DESCRIPTION

12       Kig is an application for interactive geometry. It is intended to serve
13       two purposes:

15       •   To allow students to interactively explore mathematical figures and
16           concepts using the computer;

18       •   To serve as a WYSIWYG tool for drawing mathematical figures and
19           including them in other documents.

21       With this program you can do geometry on a computer just like you would
22       on a blackboard in a classroom. However the program allows you to move
23       and change parts of a geometrical drawing so that you can see how other
24       parts change as a result.

26       Kig supports loci and user-defined macros. It also imports and exports
27       both to and from foreign file formats including Cabri, Dr. Geo, KGeo,
28       KSeg and XFig.

30       This application is part of the official KDE edutainment module.

OPTIONS

33       -c, --convert-to-native
34           Do not show a GUI. Instead convert the specified file to native Kig
35           format. The native Kig file will be written to standard output
36           unless --outfile is passed.

38       -o, --outfile filename
39           Used with --convert-to-native to specify where to save the newly
40           created Kig file. Not specifying this option, or providing a
41           filename of - will output the file to standard output.
