wxGUI Map Swipe

DESCRIPTION
7       The  Map  Swipe  is a wxGUI component which allows the user to interac‐
8       tively compare two raster maps of the same area by revealing  different
9       parts  of the raster maps.  It is useful e.g. for comparing raster maps
10       from different time periods.  Map Swipe can be launched from  the  menu
11       File -> Map Swipe.

13       Map Swipe allows you to:

15           •   switch orientation of the swipe line (horizontal or vertical)

17           •   zooming, panning

19           •   automatically  load  maps  when  opening Map Swipe with two se‐
20               lected raster maps in Layer Manager

22           •   compare 2 raster maps or load different combinations of  raster
23               and vector maps and set transparency (advanced mode)

25           •   save display to graphics file

27           •   display text labels with map names

29           •   choose  between  ’swipe’ mode (default) and ’mirror’ mode (syn‐
30               chronized maps displayed side by side)

32           •   change the appearance of cursor in ’mirror’ mode (available  in
33               Map Swipe settings)
34       Pre and post disaster images of the tsunami in Japan in 2011. The upper
35       MODIS image taken on February 26, 2011, shows the coastline under  nor‐
36       mal  conditions  while the lower MODIS image on March 13, 2011, shows a
37       clear view of tsunami flooding along the coastline.  Water,  black  and
38       dark  blue in these false-color images, still covers the ground as much
39       as five kilometers (three miles) from the coast.  Source: Earth  Obser‐
