NAME

6       lbzgrep - search possibly compressed files for a regular expression

SYNOPSIS

9       lbzgrep [ grep_options ] [ -e ] pattern filename...

DESCRIPTION

12       Zgrep invokes grep on compressed or lbzip2ped files.  All options spec‐
13       ified are passed directly to grep.  If no file is specified,  then  the
14       standard input is decompressed if necessary and fed to grep.  Otherwise
15       the given files are uncompressed if necessary and fed to grep.

17       If the GREP environment variable is set, lbzgrep uses it  as  the  grep
18       program to be invoked.

EXIT STATUS

21       Exit status is 0 for a match, 1 for no matches, and 2 if trouble.

BUGS

24       The  following  grep options are not supported: --dereference-recursive
25       (-R), --directories  (-d),  --exclude,  --exclude-from,  --exclude-dir,
26       --include, --null (-Z), --null-data (-z), and --recursive (-r).
