12
131mDESCRIPTION0m
14 1mgetdap4 22mA command line interface for DAP4, the
15follow‐on to DAP2.
16 While getdap can be used to access DAP2 response objects
17and process
18 those responses with the libdap client‐side software, get‐
19dap4 fills the
20 same role for DAP4.
21
22 In the first form of the command, dereference the URL
23and perform the
24 requested operations. This includes routing the returned
25information
26 through the DAP processing library (parsing the re‐
27turned objects, et
28 c.). If neither of d or D are used with a URL, then the
29DAP library
30 routines are NOT used and the URLs contents are dumped to
31standard out‐
32 put.
33
34 In the second form of the command, assume the files are
35DAP4 Data ob‐
36 jects (stored in files or read from pipes) and process
37them as if ‐D
38 were given. In this case the information must contain
39valid MIME header
40 in order to be processed or ‐M should be used.
41
421mOPTIONS0m
43 ‐i For each URL, get the server version.
44
45 ‐d For each URL, get the the DAP4 DMR response.
46
47 ‐D For each URL, get the the DAP4 Data response.
48
49 ‐v Verbose output.
50
51 ‐V Version of this client; see ’i’ for server version.
52
53 ‐c expr
54 4mexpr24m is a constraint expression. Used with
55‐D/X. You can use a
56 ‘?’ for the CE also.
57
58 ‐k Keep temporary files created by libdap.
59
60 ‐m num Request the same URL 4mnum24m times
61
62 ‐z Ask the server to compress data.
63
64 ‐s Print Sequences using numbered rows.
65
66 ‐M Assume data read from a file has no MIME headers
67(the default is
68 to assume the headers are present).
69
701mFILES0m
71 4m~/.dodsrc0m
72 The 4m.dodsrc24m file contains various parameters
73that affect the
74 runtime behavior for DAP clients. See 1mdod‐
75src22m(5) for further de‐
76 tails.
77
781mENVIRONMENT0m
79 DODS_CONF
80 Specifies an alternate file or directory for the
814m.dodsrc24m file.
82
831mDIAGNOSTICS0m
84 Various self‐explanatory messages may be issued on stderr.
85
86
871mBUGS0m
88 The command name should have been chosen more carefully
89to reflect its
90 purpose.
91
92 The dodsrc man page needs to be written.
