NAME

6       bonobo-activation-server - GNOME component tracker

DESCRIPTION

9       This application tracks information about installed components and bro‐
10       kers components, in conjunction with  its  client  library;  libbonobo-
11       activation.

13       It     reads     the     component     descriptions     from     ${pre‐
14       fix}/lib/bonobo/servers/*.server.  These files provide an XML  descrip‐
15       tion  of a components capabilities which can be queried and manipulated
16       by clients from the client library.

18       Bonobo-activation-server also ensures that the minimum neccessary  num‐
19       ber of servers for your display setup are running.

21       Bonobo-activation-server  executes  all components with the environment
22       inherited from the first process to start the server.  In  addition  to
23       using  your  prefix, it will examine the BONOBO_ACTIVATION_PATH and the
24       GNOME2_PATH environment variables to find .server files.

26       In  addition  it  examines  an  XML  configuration   file   in   ${pre‐
27       fix}/etc/bonobo-activation/bonobo-activation-config.xml
