DESCRIPTION

14       This manual page documents briefly the tomboy command.

16       Tomboy  is a desktop note-taking application for Linux and Unix. Simple
17       and easy to use, but with potential to help you organize the ideas  and
18       information you deal with every day.

20       Tomboy's  usefulness  lies  in  the  ability  to relate notes and ideas
21       together, using a WikiWiki-like linking system.

23       When run without any options, the Tomboy note menu appears in the Gnome
24       Panel's  notification  tray  area.  Selecting a note from the menu dis‐
25       plays the note's spatial window.

27       Changes to notes are saved automatically.  Links to  URLs,  files,  and
28       other  notes are detected as you type.  Rich editing such as highlight‐
29       ing, bold, italics, undo/redo, and variable font sizes are supported.

31       Global keybindings exist to allow  fast  access  to  Tomboy  notes  and
32       dialogs.   These  keybindings  are  set in GConf (see below) and may be
33       activated from any application.

OPTIONS

37       The program follows the usual GNU command  line  syntax,  with  options
38       starting  with  two  dashes  (`--').  A summary of options are included
39       below.

GCONF SETTINGS

64       Tomboy has several preference settings stored  in  GConf.   Changes  to
65       Settings  are  applied instantly to any running Tomboy instance. A sum‐

69              Global X keybinding for displaying the "Start Here"  note.   The
70              default keybinding is <Alt>F11.
