NAME

6       tzselect - select a time zone

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

12       The  tzselect  program  asks the user for information about the current
13       location, and outputs the resulting time zone description  to  standard
14       output.  The output is suitable as a value for the TZ environment vari‐
15       able.

17       All interaction with the user is done via standard input  and  standard
18       error.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

21       AWK    Name of a Posix-compliant awk program (default: awk).

23       TZDIR  Name  of the directory containing time zone data files (default:
24              /usr/share/zoneinfo).

FILES

27       TZDIR/iso3166.tab
28              Table of ISO 3166 2-letter country codes and country names.

30       TZDIR/zone.tab
31              Table of country codes, latitude and longitude, TZ  values,  and
32              descriptive comments.

35              Time zone data file for time zone TZ.

EXIT STATUS

38       The  exit  status is zero if a time zone was successfully obtained from
39       the user, non-zero otherwise.
