13 The ndmpd daemon handles client Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP)
14 requests. NDMP is an open, enterprise-wide, network-based data manage‐
15 ment protocol used for backup and recovery. The ndmpd daemon enables
16 users to manage data backup and recovery using Data Management Applica‐
17 tion (DMA) clients. The NDMP protocol is used to coordinate data move‐
18 ment and control between a DMA and an NDMP server or between two NDMP
19 servers.
