DESCRIPTION

13       rdate  sets the local date and time from the hostname given as an argu‐
14       ment. You must have the authorization solaris.system.date on the  local
15       system. Typically, rdate is used in a startup script.

18       rdate  requests are responded to by the "time" service on the specified
19       host. To enable the "time" service, use the following commands:

21         svcadm enable time:stream
22         svcadm enable time:dgram
