12       update-mime-database -h | -v | [ -V | -n ] MIME-DIR

DESCRIPTION

16       update-mime-database is a program which is responsible for updating the
17       shared  mime-info cache according to the system described in the Shared
18       MIME-Info                    Database                     specification
19       ⟨http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/shared-mime-info-spec⟩

OPTIONS

24       -h     Print out a command summary.

30       -n     Only update if MIME-DIR/packages/ or a file in that directory is
31              newer than MIME-DIR/version. This is useful for package pre- and
32              post-installation scripts.

ARGUMENTS

36       MIME-DIR
37              This is the  directory  for  which  update-mime-database  should
38              rebuild the cache. Mandatory if none of the options is provided.
