SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

16       fetchnews  retrieves  news  articles  from a peer news server and feeds
17       them to a Cyrus server. fetchnews connects to  the  peer  specified  by
18       peername, requests new articles since the time stored in tstampfile and
19       feeds them to servername.

21       fetchnews reads its configuration options out of the imapd.conf(5) file
22       unless specified otherwise by -C.

OPTIONS

25       -C config-file
26              Use the specified configuration file config-file rather than the
27              default imapd.conf(5).

30              Hostname of the Cyrus server (with optional port) to which arti‐
31              cles should be fed.  Defaults to "localhost:nntp".

33       -n     Don't  use the NEWNEWS command. fetchnews will keep track of the
34              high and low water marks for each group and use  them  to  fetch
35              new articles.

37       -y     Use  4  instead of 2 digits for year. 2-digits are RFC 977 - but
38              not y2k-compliant.

41              Wildmat pattern specifying which newsgroups to  search  for  new
42              articles.  Defaults to "*".

45              File  in which to read/write the timestamp of when articles were
46              last  retrieved.   Defaults  to  <configdirectory>/newsstamp  as
47              specified by the configuration options.
