DESCRIPTION

17       The explain_strtoul_or_die function is used to call the strtoul(3) sys‐
18       tem call. On failure an explanation will be printed to stderr, obtained
19       from the explain_strtoul(3) function, and then the  process  terminates
20       by calling exit(EXIT_FAILURE).

22       The  explain_strtoul_on_error  function  is used to call the strtoul(3)
23       system call. On failure an  explanation  will  be  printed  to  stderr,
24       obtained from the explain_strtoul(3) function, but still returns to the
25       caller.

27       nptr    The nptr, exactly as to be  passed  to  the  strtoul(3)  system
28               call.

30       endptr  The  endptr,  exactly  as to be passed to the strtoul(3) system

33       base    The base, exactly as to be  passed  to  the  strtoul(3)  system

RETURN VALUE

37       The  explain_strtoul_or_die  function only returns on success, see str‐
38       toul(3) for more information. On failure,  prints  an  explanation  and
39       exits, it does not return.

41       The  explain_strtoul_on_error  function always returns the value return
42       by the wrapped strtoul(3) system call.

EXAMPLE

45       The explain_strtoul_or_die function is intended to be used in a fashion
46       similar to the following example:
