NAME

6 wcscasecmp - compare two wide-character strings, ignoring case
7

SYNOPSIS

9 #define _GNU_SOURCE
10 #include <wchar.h>
11
12       int wcscasecmp(const wchar_t *s1, const wchar_t *s2);
13

DESCRIPTION

15 The wcscasecmp() function is the wide-character equivalent of the str‐
16 casecmp(3) function. It compares the wide-character string pointed to
17 by s1 and the wide-character string pointed to by s2, ignoring case
18 differences (towupper(3), towlower(3)).
19

RETURN VALUE

21 The wcscasecmp() function returns zero if the wide-character strings at
22 s1 and s2 are equal except for case distinctions. It returns a posi‐
23 tive integer if s1 is greater than s2, ignoring case. It returns a
24 negative integer if s1 is smaller than s2, ignoring case.
25

CONFORMING TO

27 POSIX.1-2008. This function is not specified in POSIX.1-2001, and is
28 not widely available on other systems.
29

NOTES

31 The behavior of wcscasecmp() depends on the LC_CTYPE category of the
32 current locale.
