6       netreport - request notification of network interface changes

SYNOPSIS

9       netreport [-r]

DESCRIPTION

12       netreport  tells  the network management scripts to send a SIGIO signal
13       to the process which called netreport when any network interface status
14       changes occur.

OPTIONS

17       -r     Remove the current request (if any) for the calling process.
18

NOTES

20       If  a  program  does  not  call  netreport with the -r option before it
21       exits, and another process is created with  the  same  PID  before  any
22       changes  take  place  in  interface status, it is possible that the new
23       process will receive a spurious SIGIO.
