DESCRIPTION

13       "nbdkit-split-plugin" is a file plugin for nbdkit(1).  One or more
14       filenames may be given using the "file=FILENAME" parameter.  These
15       files are logically concatenated into a single disk image.

17   Differences from nbdkit-file-plugin
18       Normally to serve a single file you should use nbdkit-file-plugin(1).
19       This plugin differs from nbdkit-file-plugin as follows:

21       ·   nbdkit-file-plugin is faster and more efficient.  It has a fully
22           parallel implementation, and does not have to deal with the
23           complexity of locating the correct file to serve or splitting
24           requests across files.

26       ·   nbdkit-file-plugin allows you to resize the underlying file
27           dynamically.  The underlying files must not be resized when using
28           the split plugin.

30       ·   nbdkit-file-plugin can handle block devices, but the split plugin
31           can only handle plain files.

33       ·   nbdkit-file-plugin handles writes of blocks of zeroes efficiently,
34           but the split plugin cannot.

36       ·   nbdkit-file-plugin can "punch holes" in the backing file in
37           response to a trim request from the client, but the split plugin

PARAMETERS
