DESCRIPTION

21       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with  the
22       ISO C  standard.  Any  conflict between the requirements described here
23       and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This  volume  of  POSIX.1‐2008
24       defers to the ISO C standard.

26       The  wcsncmp()  function  shall  compare not more than n wide-character
27       codes (wide-character codes that follow a null wide-character code  are
28       not  compared) from the array pointed to by ws1 to the array pointed to
29       by ws2.

31       The sign of a non-zero return value shall be determined by the sign  of
32       the  difference  between the values of the first pair of wide-character
33       codes that differ in the objects being compared.

RETURN VALUE

36       Upon successful completion, wcsncmp() shall return an  integer  greater
37       than,  equal  to, or less than 0, if the possibly null-terminated array
38       pointed to by ws1 is greater than, equal to, or less than the  possibly
39       null-terminated array pointed to by ws2, respectively.
