DESCRIPTION

12       Alternative  to  plstar(3plplot) for initializing the plotting package.
13       The device name keyword for the desired output device must be  supplied
14       as  an  argument.   These keywords are the same as those printed out by
15       plstar(3plplot).  If the requested device is not available, or  if  the
16       input  string  is  empty or begins with ``?'', the prompted start up of
17       plstar(3plplot) is used.  This routine also divides the  output  device
18       page  into  nx by ny subpages, each of which may be used independently.
19       The subroutine pladv(3plplot) is used to advance from  one  subpage  to
20       the next.

ARGUMENTS

29       devname (PLCHAR_VECTOR(3plplot), input)
30              An ascii character string containing the device name keyword  of
31              the  required output device.  If devname is NULL or if the first
32              character of the string is a ``?'', the normal (prompted)  start
