NAME

6 dblink_send_query - sends an async query to a remote database
7

SYNOPSIS

9 dblink_send_query(text connname, text sql) returns int
10

DESCRIPTION

12 dblink_send_query sends a query to be executed asynchronously, that is,
13 without immediately waiting for the result. There must not be an async
14 query already in progress on the connection.
15
16 After successfully dispatching an async query, completion status can be
17 checked with dblink_is_busy, and the results are ultimately collected
18 with dblink_get_result. It is also possible to attempt to cancel an
19 active async query using dblink_cancel_query.
20

ARGUMENTS

22 connname
23 Name of the connection to use.
24
25 sql
26 The SQL statement that you wish to execute in the remote database,
27 for example select * from pg_class.
28

RETURN VALUE

30 Returns 1 if the query was successfully dispatched, 0 otherwise.
31

EXAMPLES

33           SELECT dblink_send_query('dtest1', 'SELECT * FROM foo WHERE f1 < 3');
