SYNOPSIS

10       omniNames [-start <port>]

DESCRIPTION

14       omniNames  is  omniORB's implementation of the OMG's COS Naming Service
15       Specification.

17       When started for the first time, omniNames needs to be told which  port
18       it should listen on.  This is specified with the -start option.  Subse‐
19       quently, omniNames will always determine its port  from  the  log  file
20       which it writes.

22       When  omniNames starts up successfully it writes the stringified object
23       reference for its root context on standard error.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

27       OMNINAMES_LOGDIR
28              the directory in which log files are kept.

30       OMNINAMES_ITBC
31              the idle time between checkpoints in seconds.  It defaults to 15
32              minutes.
