DESCRIPTION

15       scan_xshort parses an unsigned short integer in hexadecimal ASCII  rep‐
16       resentation  from  src  and writes the result into dest. It returns the
17       number of bytes read from src.

19       scan_xshort understands both upper and lower case letters.

21       scan_xshort does not expect or understand a "0x" prefix.
