14 The bsod program is the finest in personal computer emulation.
15 bsod steps through a set of screens, each one a recreation of a differ‐
17 ent failure mode of an operating system. Systems depicted include Win‐
18 dows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, MS-DOS, AmigaDOS 1.3, Linux, SCO
19 UNIX, BSD UNIX, HPUX, Solaris, Tru64, VMS, HVX/GCOS6, IBM OS/390, OS/2,
20 MacOS (MacsBug, Bomb, Sad Mac, and OSX), Atari ST, Apple ][+, VMware
21 and NCD X Terminals.

24 bsod accepts the following options:
25 -window Draw on a newly-created window. This is the default.
27 -root Draw on the root window.
29 -mono If on a color display, pretend we're on a monochrome display.
31 -install
33 Install a private colormap for the window.
34 -visual visual
36 Specify which visual to use. Legal values are the name of a
37 visual class, or the id number (decimal or hex) of a specific
38 visual.
39 -delay delay
41 The duration each crash-mode is displayed before selecting an‐

43 -only which
45 Tell it to run only one mode, e.g., -only HPUX.
46 -fps Display the current frame rate and CPU load.

60 doSCO, doAtari, doBSD, doLinux, doSparcLinux, doHPPALinux, doBlitDam‐
61 age, doSolaris, doHPUX, doApple2, doOS390, doTru64, doVMS, doMSDOS,
62 doOS2, doHVX, doVMware, and doATM. Each of these is a Boolean re‐
63 source, they all default to true, except for doAtari, doBSD, doSpar‐
64 cLinux, and doHPPALinux, which are turned off by default, because
65 they're really not all that interesting looking unless you're a fan of
66 those systems.
67 There are command-line options for all of these: e.g., -bsd, -no-bsd.
