NAME

6       MPIATY - Given the area identifier of one of the areas defined by
7       whatever database was last read by one of the EZMAPB routines MPLNAM,
8       MPLNDM, MPLNDR, and MPLNRI, this function returns the area type of the

DESCRIPTION

20       IAIN        is an input expression of type INTEGER, specifying the area
21                   identifier of a particular area of interest.

24       The C-binding argument description is the same as the FORTRAN argument

USAGE

28       The statement "IATY=MPIATY(IAIN)" retrieves in IATY the area type of
29       the area with area identifier IAIN.  For example, if IMAD is the area
30       identifier of the little island in Lake Superior called "Lake
31       Madeline", then MPIATY(IMAD) is 4, implying that this island is a
32       portion of a state.
