NAME

6       yppoll - return version and master server of a NIS map

SYNOPSIS

9       yppoll [ -h host ] [ -d domain ] mapname

DESCRIPTION

12       yppoll  queries  ypserv(8) which host the NIS master server for a named
13       map is and what the order number of this map is.

OPTIONS

17       -h host
18              Ask the NIS server process running on host for information about
19              mapname.   If  host  is  not specified, the server polled is the
20              default server returned by ypwhich(1).

22       -d domain
23              Specify a domain other than the default domain  as  returned  by
24              domainname(8).
