6       issue - prelogin message and identification file

DESCRIPTION

9       /etc/issue  is a text file which contains a message or system identifi‐
10       cation to be printed before the login prompt.  It may  contain  various
11       @char  and  \char sequences, if supported by the getty-type program em‐
12       ployed on the system.
